Good Morning – Logan Ray Chavers – June 4, 2021

Good Morning!  This is your first sunrise this morning.  We thought yesterday would be your first sunrise, but you surprised us and waited until last night to come into this world, so welcome to the sunlight – finally!  

A part of your coming into this world started well before you were even known to be coming!  We had a virus that was making a lot of people sick, so they would not let people be together, and that meant family as well!  That is why we are not there with you to see your first morning with you, or your first appearance in the world.  But don’t worry!  You are going to see us, and we can’t wait to see you!  You cannot keep us away! In fact, Gigi is not that far away. She is in town hoping to get a first peek before G-Pop!

I wrote a letter to your big brother as well.  Maybe he will share it one day with you.  In fact, that is one thing that Levi never had.  You have a big brother!  Levi has taught us a lot, and you are going to benefit from that education that he gave us.  For example, we know how you are going to take naps, and when we need to change your diapers (don’t worry – that won’t be permanent).  Levi likes toy cars, and so there are plenty of them around the house.  And that is going to be your opportunity to teach your big brother something, and that is called sharing.

Levi calls us G-Pop and GiGi, and we look forward to hearing your voice say those words.  It will be like music to our ears when you call us by name.  We love you, and we cannot wait to see you, rock you, then watch as you learn to crawl, walk, ride a scooter, and then a bicycle.  I know… those things are old hat to your brother, but trust me, you will get it as well, and it will be fun. In fact, GiGi and G-Pop have bikes. So you will never get too old to ride a bike.

I told your brother about Flanagan and I want to tell you also.  He is going to be fascinating!  He is soft, and thick and has curly hair.  When he drinks water, his beard becomes soaked, and so he drips when he walks.  It is actually quite funny!  He knows how to get out of your way.  So if he is a little timid around you, don’t worry…he still loves you.  In fact, he may be your fiercest defender!

Your Mommy and Daddy love you very much, and we love them!  Your Daddy was our first little boy, and I look at those pictures and still think about how precious it was to raise him, and to see him become the man he has become (I look forward to watching that in you!).  Your mom is talented, creative, and extremely beautiful. We met her about 11 years ago, when she and your Daddy fell in love with each other. And, like I said, we fell in love with her.

I have used that word “love” in this letter a lot, because that is exactly what this is. It is a love letter! But, I want to tell about the best love in all the world.  It talks about it in the Bible, when it says, “For God so loved the world”.  God loves you very much.  So much so, that his Son Jesus gave his life for us so that we could live forever with Him.  I know that topic is WAY over your head, but you will learn.  I hope the Bible becomes your favorite book.
